After years of hard graft comes the realisation of the dream: your very own outdoor swimming pool. But the thousand pound investment isn't a one-off. Everything from Swimming Pool Chemicals and upkeep of hardware will ensure a constant leak of funds into those crystal clear waters. Getting someone in to periodically clean the pool would be further expense though. But don't worry, establishing decent maintenance practice should keep your water clean and swimmable with minimal effort.
The art of maintaining pool water quality can be as precise as you need it to be. Having a water testing kit for this purpose is absolutely essential. The range of available choices available can be somewhat perplexing, with a range of seemingly far too cheap options and some multi-hundred figure alternatives. You'll need something whatever you do, without this most crucial of pool accessories, you won't have any way of measuring and maintaining water quality beyond the stinging knowledge of Acidic pH or the thriving alkaline friendly algae. Owners of smaller pools can make do with the kits at the lower end of the scale: disposable strip kits and testing tablets will work just fine. A more expensive kit comes into play in a larger pool, or for those simply that bit more enthusiastic about their investment. These kits allow you to identify thinks like Iron and Alkalinity, which are more complex issues that aren't necessarily revealed by simple kit readings.

Whilst people are swimming in the pool, the pump should be operating: no one can avoid bringing bits and pieces into the pool. When no one is in the pool, the pump should still be filtering matter at least four in every 12 hours. Other hardware need regular checks to operate well too though. A weekly cleanout is usually enough for your skimmers, clogged with leaves as they often may be. A good automatic pool sweep will ensure that even the most forest-besieged garden pool will be clean enough for a regular swim. Finally, the best way to get rid of stained tiles is simply to scrub with a good brush. Watch the waterline in particular.

How can I get crystal clear pictures?
I just purchased a Lumix FZ8, I am having trouble setting it so it can take clear pictures. When I bring the photo to its full size it is rough. I had it on full zoom, could that be my problem?
Answer:
When you have it on full zoom, that likely means you've used "digital zoom", which is a very poor quality zoom feature. It basically zooms in on the pixelated image -- no different than magnifying a digital image on your computer beyond 100%. Optical zoom has the problem where the image is more difficult keep the subject in the frame without getting motion blur. It can be compared to trying to write your name while holding a pen from the part furthest away from the ballpoint or pressing a button on your DVD player with a 10-foot pole -- small movements of the camera translate into big movements on the other side of the lens. This effect increases the greater the zoom.
