Frequently Asked Questions...
Does anyone see the Lions going 0-16 last year being a slap in the face?
and especially during a recession we had the Detroit Lions go 0-16. Now, I could fit the requirements to go 0-16. Everyone who answers this question could go 0-16. Man, I just thought today how nice it could be to fail at your job and lose every game and still collect a hefty payroll. I think I was watching sportscenter today and the NJ Nets just went 0-13 on the season. 0-13!!! Pay me to do that! Man, if we regular people fail at our jobs miserably we dont have a back up job. and the irony of all this is the GM over the lions struggle (Matt Millen) gets a nice cushioned job in the booth. Amazing. Make fun of the guy all you want because of his failures, but hes richer than all of us will ever be. Am i right or am i right?
Answer:
I agree with you. In this day and age, if a working class citizen screws up...well then were out the door. How much exactly was that contract for Millen during his time with the Lions? because a porcupine could've done a more effective job than him. He failed miserable and did a horrific job being A GENERAL MANAGER OF AN NFL PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM. and what happens? He holds his job for 9-10 years and then leaves and gets a nice job being a commentator. a horrific one not to mention.
Sure he was a football player, but it's just a shame to see someone get hoards of money when someone is an absolute failure. No one is complaining but it's the truth. In the real life, you screw up once, and you're out..There should be at least some cut or deduction from these players/managers salaries when they're not living up to the contract. It's possible. Set a limit. Don't give a guaranteed contract and base the contract on performance at the end of the year.
Someone like Albert Hayensworth of the Washington Redskins signed a contract and I heard he's $40 guaranteed. So what do you think the attitude is going to be of these players, they dont care if they win or lose as much as the fans do. So the guy above me if very wrong! Very Wrong! Why should you give an easy pass to athletes if they do such a terrible job and underachieve? It is on the players somewhat. and You watch the Nets or Lions play and they don't care. They just want to get that money.
