Pet Toys - They Don't Have To Be Expensive
Cats and dogs need daily stimulation to stay happy, healthy and alert. A great way to help them have fun is to provide toys. Toys also provide another benefit. If your pets have toys, they will play with them rather than destroying the leg of your sofa or that new rug. There are many great ideas for inexpensive animal toys. In fact, you probably have many of these items in your home already.
Every home has a few empty water bottles lying around. Be sure to collect these bottles instead of throwing them away. Your dog will love playing with them. They make a fun noise that dogs simply cannot resist. To make sure the bottle is safe for your furry friend, make sure that you remove the label and the hard plastic cap first. This will ensure that they won’t choke on anything. Some companies are even starting to make cute furry water bottle covers to turn water bottles into cute furry animals.
If you have an old ball of string lying around, it can make a great toy for your bored cat. They especially love it when you play with them. Try teasing them with a string. They love it when you dangle it over their heads or let them chase after it while you run around. Take a few minutes to play with your pets and quickly develop a closer relationship.
If you really want to enjoy some hilarious antics from your pets, pull out your laser light and let the entertainment ensue. You can readily find these little laser lights at most pet stores. Both cats and dogs love chasing after the pretty red light. Be careful when playing with your animals and a laser light; don’t ever shine the light directly into anyone’s eyes. Some pets even enjoy chasing around flashlight beams as well.
Another great way to play with your pet is to spend some time playing catch. Your pet will love spending time with you outdoors. Give a ball a throw and enjoy watching your dog chase it around. Don’t think that you need a specific dog ball. Anything you have, including an old tennis balls, will work great. Be careful and choose a ball that is a good size for your dog’s mouth and that won’t easily pop.
